T-Shirt
"Genocide Is Not Self-Defense" Palestine Solidarity Shirt | Watermelon Freedom Symbol | Protest Streetwear
Genocide is not self-defense.
Six words against a press machine that has spent two years rewriting what those words mean. The press machine is losing. The shirt is one of the reasons.
THE STORY
"Self-defense" was the word used to keep the bombs falling. It was used by spokespeople. It was used by anchors who knew better. It was used in headlines that turned children buried in rubble into adverbs. The International Court of Justice in January 2024 called what was happening a plausible genocide. The UN has documented it. Amnesty, Human Rights Watch, and B'Tselem have all called it by name. None of that fits in the word "self-defense."
THE RECEIPT
A watermelon slice — the Palestinian flag in fruit form, the symbol that survived every ban because nobody could ban produce. Underneath: Genocide Is Not Self-Defense. Six words, no graphic crowding them. The watermelon is the receipt that the symbol still belongs to the people the bombs are aimed at.
WHY THIS MATTERS
Every word used to soften the act extends the act. "Operation." "Incident." "Conflict." The line on this shirt is a refusal of the softening. It does not flinch. It does not concede the frame.
WEAR IT
The march. The vigil. The dinner where the conversation is overdue. Anywhere the news scrolls past too fast.
