February 2, 2025. Emirates. Arsenal 5–1 Manchester City. Myles Lewis-Skelly, 18 years old, cuts inside the box. Shot off the post past Ortega. First senior Arsenal goal. He doesn't run. He doesn't slide. He sits down on the pitch, crosses his legs, and holds Haaland's meditation pose long enough for every camera in north London to see exactly what he's doing.
THE BACK STORY
Four months earlier at the Etihad. 98th minute. John Stones equalizes for City. Haaland grabs the ball from the net and throws it at the back of Gabriel Magalhães's head. Then, in the scuffle that follows, he tells Mikel Arteta: "Stay humble, eh? Stay humble." Then he turns to the 17-year-old kid two yards away — Lewis-Skelly, on his Premier League debut — and asks, "Who the f*** are you?"
Lewis-Skelly didn't answer that night. He answered four months later. With a goal. And a pose.
